Whats New

2/10/25

we are currently closed the week of 2/6/25 until 2/17/25 due to damage to our building.  On 2/6 the power vault on our street blew up.  Luckily no one was hurt.  Due to the seismic boom, it destroyed the water main, broke all the pipes in the building which led to flooding.  We regained power 2/10/25 how ever, we still do not have water which means no restrooms and they are repairing water damage.  We will notify our customers when re opened.  During this time we will respond during our normal hours of operation.   We are trying to function on the shipping part for online orders as best we can at the moment. Friday-Sunday.  Thank you!

1/28/25

Hey everyone,

it has been wild here in California.  The first week of January through the 6th we were closed and heading back to the shop after the holidays.  Sorry for getting back to everyone delayed.  Family is always the first priority.  Going into the new year, we had our wonderful rolling black outs, the fires, the rain storms and now some what back to normal.

Justin the owner was out with the evacuation teams and offering his services in addition as a chaplain to comfort and assist folks that lost everything.  We had two family members that lost everything in the fire.  The best way to describe it, is it looks like a war zone.

We were fortunately able with the assistance of some of our customers to gather ample amounts of non perishables and water for donation for fire victims and first responders.

We found out that when we donated there was well over 18k cases of water.

Thank you to those that helped.

We have seen an incredible large influx in resellers coming in and buying through us as customers.  We are not serving them and turning them away.

Our processing time for orders from taken to shipped is 5 days.  If you are a reseller, get yourself a resellers license and open a store, pay taxes, pay for a building, but don't rely on us to make your buck and only to get mad at us when we explain to you our policy's that are amply placed and clearly visible every where. For our local and regular customers, we will offer you lower prices as best we can.

Coming into February means Taxes and Inventory time.  We will be updating the stores online inventory to match what is in the store for new product as well as a re organizing of the stores shelves to suit everyone's needs.  We will be having a mark down area for items that we have had for some time.  Once its gone, its gone.  This enables us to have room for new product.  We are no longer offering consignment sells and instead are going to buy more collections off of folks.  This is less headache as some folks don't understand that consignment items don't move over night.

We have noticed in addition a dramatic increase in the lack of patience of folks.  Not just at the store but out in the world.  From driving, to crossing streets not only that over all rudeness.  Lets try and be patient and kind towards one another.

We only answer the phone during business hours.  The same with emails.

We are sorry if we don't respond at 2:30AM to your questions and with an answer.

We had someone do this on Christmas Eve and Day and get upset that he wasn't answered until after the holidays.  When explained we were closed for the holidays, he didn't care one bit.  A customer we don't need.  Justin has often contemplated just shutting the store down due to certain model railroad runners (Not modelers).

But due to the overall great customers we have and the plead to stay open, we will keep pushing forward as far and as long as we can.  Every day is a new challenge and a new lesson.

In addition we no longer offer DCC installations unless plug and play or DCC ready.

We still do service and repairs at $35 an hour.  We ask that you be patient though as it is one person doing almost entirely all the repairs and service.

To our friendly and understanding customers, thank you!  it's a pleasure to serve you.
